While our Local Group spans about 10 million light-years, Laniakea stretches across more than 520 million light-years.These supercluster structures form the largest known gravitationally bound objects in our universe.As we reach the edge of our cosmic understanding, we encounter the observable universe, a sphere of space approximately 93 billion light-years in diameter.The cosmic horizon represents the maximum distance from which light could have reached Earth in the 13.8 billion years since the Big Bang.One of the most fascinating aspects of our universe is that space itself is expanding. This means that distant galaxies appear to be moving away from us.The expansion of space means that the observable universe is actually much larger than 13.8 billion light-years across. Light from the most distant visible objects has traveled for 13.8 billion years, but these objects are now much farther away.This creates our cosmic horizon, beyond which we cannot see because light from those regions hasn't had time to reach us yet.The radius of our observable universe is about 46.5 billion light-years, making the total diameter approximately 93 billion light-years.An important concept to understand is that there is no center to the universe in the traditional sense.
