Professional waxing is as much about preparation and hygiene as it is about the technical application of wax. A successful treatment relies on a systematic approach to setting up the workspace, organizing tools for efficiency, and providing appropriate aftercare to ensure client comfort and skin health. This guide outlines the standard operating procedures for plinth preparation, trolley organization, and post-treatment protocols.
Plinth Preparation
The treatment plinth must be prepared meticulously to ensure both hygiene and client comfort. A clean, organized bed prevents cross-contamination and creates a professional atmosphere.
The setup begins with a large towel covering the bed, which is then covered with a plastic sheet for easy sanitation. For the head area, a pillow should be covered with a small towel and protection paper (90cm).
Essential Plinth Checklist:
- Towels: 2 large towels, 3 small towels.
- Protection: Large plastic sheet and 90cm protection paper for the pillow.
- Client Comfort: Pillow and pillowcase; an optional neck roll.
- Client Covering: A large towel to cover the client, a small towel for the décolleté, and a small modesty towel.
Note on Modesty: A small modesty towel can be placed on the bed prior to the waxing session. However, during a bikini wax, this towel must be removed to allow for proper treatment.
To maintain a professional aesthetic, towels should be folded with the "nice side" facing the door. A hanger should be placed on top of the small towel, and a free-standing maglamp should be positioned at the head of the plinth.
Trolley Organization and Equipment
The trolley serves as your mobile workstation. It must be organized logically so that you can work without searching for tools, which maintains the flow of the treatment.
