Preparing for a midterm can often feel overwhelming due to the sheer volume of textbook content and lecture material. However, the key to success lies in strategic prioritization rather than exhaustive memorization. This guide is designed to help you navigate the specific requirements of the upcoming exam, ensuring you focus your energy on the areas that will yield the highest returns.

Exam Logistics and Environment

Before diving into the academic content, it is crucial to understand the technical requirements and the strict environment of the testing session. The midterm will be administered via Canvas.

To ensure a smooth experience, you must adhere to the following checklist:

  • Hardware: Bring a fully charged laptop.
  • Software: Ensure that the Lockdown Browser is pre-installed on your device before the exam begins.
  • Integrity: The exam environment is strictly controlled. You are prohibited from using any external browsers, opening other tabs, or using mobile phones during the session.

Exam Tip: Do not wait until the morning of the exam to check your Lockdown Browser installation. Technical glitches are much harder to resolve once the timer has started.

Exam Structure and Question Types

The exam is divided into two distinct components that test different levels of understanding: objective recognition and qualitative application.

Objective Questions: True/False and Multiple Choice

The first portion of the exam consists of 20 questions formatted as either True/False or Multiple Choice. These questions are designed to test your grasp of fundamental concepts, definitions, and specific details found within the textbook and your personal class notes.
