We start with eight apples.If we take away five apples, how many are left? Count with me as they disappear!Let's look at different types of patterns! First, we have a pattern with shapes.Can you guess what shape comes next? We have triangle, square, circle... so the next shape should be a triangle!Now let's look at a number pattern. Each number increases by two.If we're counting by twos, starting at two, what number comes next? Two, four, six, eight... the next number should be ten!Here's a growing pattern. Watch how the number of dots increases each time.Each group has one more dot than the previous group. So the next group should have five dots.Finally, let's look at a pattern with colors. We have red, blue, red, blue.What color comes next in the pattern? Red, blue, red, blue... it should be red!Here's one last pattern for you to solve. Look at both the shapes AND colors.We have a blue square, green triangle, blue square, green triangle... so the next shape should be a blue square!When we share toys with friends, we use division to make sure everyone gets the same amount.Let's count money in our piggy bank! We can use addition to find out how much we have saved.When we help cook, we need to measure ingredients carefully using cups and spoons.Board games are full of math!
